Peasantsday is an hour-long video created on-stream over the span of 16 months. You can watch it here. Only the core blocking was done on stream, with audio installed at a later date, and male outfits installed later still. The animation and sound design are both unfinished, and I have no intention of finishing either. With the release of the video and the Peasantsday Open-Source Project, I am considering my obligation to this video project done.
Put simply, the Project is a straightforward way for anyone who is interested in seeing the Peasantsday video furthered along, or even completed, to do so themselves. It is a complete* package containing all of the files required to load the project files into Source Filmmaker, as well as the raw Davinci Resolve project file used to edit and export the video.
*Audio is excluded, for reasons explained below.
The voice audio is excluded because the voice actress, MimiHung, did not explicitly consent to her audio being publicly available. Most voice actors have special stipulations (and different rates) for private-project commisions and public-project resources. This video was done as a private-project commission.
If someone can show me that they have an earnest interest in actually improving the video, and need the source audio to do so, then I will provide the audio to select individuals, under the strict understanding that they are not to distribute the audio. Proof of earnest interest would be a demonstration of a new soundscape (simply adding sound effects is not sufficient; it needs to be something that requires a fundamental remix, such as new ambiance or Walla sounds), or of lip-syncing being done for both the dialogue and the non-dialogue verbalizations.
I take respecting my voice actress' consent very seriously. Which is also why the soundscape sounds are excluded - if they were included, then it would be fairly trivial to invert them and use that to extract Mimi's mixed audio. While not as good as the raw audio, it would likely be of a quality someone would try to use it without her permission. That is a scenario I want to avoid.
Pretty much anything you want. You can go through the project files and change the animations, adjust the camera motions, tweak the lighting. You can completely move the animations around, or just straight-up delete them. You can tweak or completely change the scene. You can change out the outfits or delete them altogether. You can copy the animations to your own unrelated projects. You can delete literally everything in the scene and render out an hour of blank footage. The project files are provided entirely as-is, and you are free to do whatever you want to do with them.
Similarly, you can modify the Davinci Resolve project file however you wish. The package contains instructions on how to easily hook up your exported renders to the project file, to automatically get the transitions I used. Or you can ignore the provided project file, and create your own edit. Similarly, you can tweak the color correction, change the watermark, remove the intro splash text, or change the credits. As with the Source Filmmaker project files, the Davinci Resolve project files are provided as-is, and you are free to do whatever you want with them.
The only thing I request is that, if you end up rendering out and uploading any version of the video, that you include two things: some reference to LordAardvark.com for the original video, and credit to MimiHung for her voice work. Those are my only two requests. Beyond that, you are free to do whatever you wish. This includes putting your work on your own Patreon. As long as you properly credit myself and Mimi, then it's only fair that you get compensated for the work you did.
There are detailed instructions on the various components of the Project provided in the package available above. The Project is split into five main components: assets, scripts, data, SFM sessions, and the Davinci Resolve project file. Assets are a simple drag-and-drop install, and it is assumed anyone participating in this project is aware of how to install those. The rest, including how to hook up the data, how to operate the scripts, how to navigate the SFM sessions, and how to hook up the Davinci Resolve project files, all have detailed instructions.
The most reliable way to get ahold of me is to DM me on Bluesky, lord-aardvark.bsky.social. Send a message along the lines of "Hi I'm working on Peasantsday and would like to have the audio to finish the work, here is a demo of what I've done", with the relevant link. Contentless messages like a simple "Hi" will be ignored - provide some substance and context to your message.
If for whatever reason Bluesky doesn't work for you, you can find the join link for my Discord server in my Patreon About page. You can feel free to join, and then ask me in #aardvarkian-productions. Use the same general message structure as described above. That channel doesn't get much traffic, and so I am suspicious of spammers any time a message pops up there. Again, provide substance!
Nope. Upload it to your website, or your Patreon, or your PornHub account, or the rule34 sites, or whatever you want. It's your video. Treat it as such. Again, I only request credit to myself for the original video, and credit to MimiHung for her voice-work.
If you wish, you can @ me on Bluesky with your video, and I will rebleet the video so my audience has a chance to see it.
